Reservoir Imaging is the catalyst enabling fast and affordable downhole seismic data acquisition for NEW reservoir imaging, monitoring and surveillance techniques.

Now large–scale downhole seismic 2D & 3D imaging is an affordable reality as surveys take less time, cost less and yield more value for the reservoir geoscientist.

Reservoir Imaging offers a wide range of downhole acquisition services from proven conventional methods like VSP, OVSP and Walkaway VSPs to NEW techniques like 3D VSP, Horizontal Well Profiling, Continuous Seismicity recording and a wide range of Simultaneous Multi-Well Recording.

Incident VSP (Zero Offset VSP) Survey

Large level-count Incident VSP surveys can be conducted in minimal time with minimal source effort ultimately reducing cost of this simple survey and practically enabling additional surveying

Shown is two VSP deployments including a conventonal wireline operation with multiple array moves and a full array "Surface-to-Depth" operation.

Note: Typical VSA for Incident VSP surveys ranges from 30 to 60 levels.

Multi-Offset VSP Survey

Single Offset ,Multi-Offset, and Multi-Directional Offset VSPs are easily and quickly acquired with recording of single shot into wide aperture VSA.

Offset VSP survey provides a cost effective two dimensionally image away from well with minimal energy source effort.

Note: Typical VSA for OVSP ranges from 40 to 100 levels

Walkaway Line VSP Survey

2D Walkaway VSP Lines are easily recorded providing high resolution images emanating from well and around the well.

Walkaway surveys can be conveniently run simultaneously with 2D or 3D surface seismic surveys programs.

Repeat or Time-Lapse Walkaway surveys provide a cost effective methos for fast reservoir surveillance.

Note: Typical VSA for Walkaway ranges from 40 to 100 levels

Multi-Line Walkaway VSP Survey

Multi-Line Walkaway VSP Lines are now a practical solution for multi-directional 2D surveillance imaging from the well.

Walkaway imaging is a new tool for development drilling exploration/exploitation and reservoir surveillance.

Note: Typical VSA for Walkaway VSP ranges from 40 to 100 levels

3D VSP Survey

Full 3D VSP surveys are now an AFFORDABLE and TIMELY solution for high resolution imaging around the well.

Compared to conventional 3D surface seismic survey, 3DVSP are inexpensive, completed in a fraction of the time and yield much higher resolution imaging.

3D VSP provides high resolution three-dimensional imaging around borehole. Repeat or Time lapse (4D) 3D VSP is a powerful tool for reservoir surveillance

Note: Typical VSA for 3D VSP ranges from 60 to +120 levels

Multi-Well 3D VSP Survey

Simultaneous Recording from multiple wells in a field extends the High Resolution Image Area in the field without extra energy source cost.

This technique is particularly efficient where surface installations (pipelines, steam lines, access roads) pose difficult energy source equipment operations.

Note: Typical VSA for 3D VSP ranges from 40 to +120 levels per well

Deviated Well VSP Survey

Reservoir Imaging has developed effective methods to deploy VSA in deviated drilled boreholes typical for development drilling program from onshore pads or offshore platforms.

The VSAs are quickly deployed, minimizing expensive offshore well-time enabling affordable 3D VSP and/or Walkaway Line surveys

High Resolution Imaging for “Pin-Point” Production Drilling

Note: Typical VSA for Deviated well VSP ranges from 80-120 levels

Horizontal Well Survey

Reservoir Imaging provides proven operations to deploy wide aperture, multi-level receivers in horizontal boreholes.

Similar to surface seismic survey geometry, Horizontal Vertical Seismic Profiling (HSP) provides higher quality imaging with the receivers (levels) below the earth's weathering layer.

Horizontal Well Seismic yields unprecedented high resolution reservoir imaging capabilities.

Additionally, placement of recievers in horizon wells is utilized for enhanced seismicity mapping data for horizontal well treatment where monitor and treatment wells are parrallel.

Note: Typical VSA for HSP ranges from 12 to 40 levels

Multi-Well, Multi-Offset/Walkaway VSP Survey

Downhole seismic recording with multi-level VSAs in multiple wells provides unique geometry for simultaneous high resolution reflection imaging and tomographic surveying between wells.

Simlar to crosswell recording the technique only utilizes surface energy.

Note: Typical VSA for Multi-well, Walkaway ranges from 80-100 levels per well.

Continuous Seismicity Survey

High sample rate and continuous data recording of multi-level VSA enables short term and long term recording of seismicity generated in the reservoir.

Continuous seismicity recording from a single well enables three-dimensional mapping of seismic events around the borehole. These mapped events provide an valuable tool to dynamically image dynamic changes within the reservoir.

Note: Typical VSA for continuous seismicity recording ranges from 10 to 60 levels.

Multi-Well Continuous Seismicity Survey

Reservoir Imaging operations and equipment are well-suited to multiple well simultaneious recording.

Distance between wells may range considerably since recording may be conducted with a single recorder or synchronously with multiple GPS-timed recorders.

Recording from multiple wells coupled with multi-level VSAs significantly improves mapping accuracy of the seismic events.

Note: Typical VSA for Multi-well recording for continuous seismicity recording range from 12 to 40 levels per well.

Full Wave-field Crosswell Seismic Survey

Wide aperture VSAs may be configured for full wave-field (3C) high resolution inter-well or crosswell acquisition.

With large numbers of 3-component sensor levels in the receiver well enables unprecedented productivity for large-scale, affordable crosswell acquisition.

Crosswell Tomography and Crosswell Reflection Imaging are proven techniques for ultra high resolution imaging between wells.

Note: Typical VSA for crosswell recording ranges from 40 to 120 levels
